An opening-range retest, with the numbers attached
The hypothetical NQ drawing shows a range high at 20,000, followed by a break and pullback. A proposed entry at 20,020, stop at 19,960 and target at 20,140 leaves 60 points of risk for 120 points of potential reward, or 1:2 before costs.
That 60-point stop equals $1,200 per NQ contract or $120 per MNQ contract before costs. CME specifies multipliers of $20 per point for NQ and $2 per point for MNQ.
The chart question comes first: did the retest hold above the range, or are candles closing back inside it? The breakout and retest workflow helps separate those outcomes; use the report to examine both readings. These example levels illustrate a conditional setup, not an order or an appropriate position size.
Nasdaq-100, NAS100, NQ and QQQ are not one price
The Nasdaq-100 index includes 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on Nasdaq. It is a different index from the Nasdaq Composite.
| Chart label | What you are looking at |
|---|---|
| NDX / Nasdaq-100 | The index level, quoted in index points. |
| NAS100 / US100 | A provider’s label. Check whether the product is a cash or futures-based CFD and retain its provider name. |
| NQ / MNQ | Futures with a contract month and different dollar multipliers. |
| QQQ | An ETF share price. Analyze the QQQ chart’s own levels. |
Invesco QQQ tracks the Nasdaq-100, but its share price is not the index level. Broker index products also have their own specifications, as IG’s index CFD details illustrate. Do not copy an NQ price target directly onto a QQQ order.
Capture the instrument and session you mean
- Keep NAS100, US100, NQ, MNQ or QQQ readable alongside the provider or exchange.
- Show the candle interval, timezone and session setting. Include the opening range and the later retest.
- For futures, retain the contract month or continuous label. Preserve visible volume and indicators you want reviewed.
- Upload the screenshot to the AI chart analyzer. Personal analysis requires an active subscription; compare the report’s levels with the source chart.
A higher-timeframe view can put the opening move in context. The screenshot checklist helps keep session labels readable.
Questions about AI Nasdaq chart analysis
Can I use my broker’s NAS100 or US100 chart?
Yes. Upload its screenshot with the provider name visible. Use that product’s own prices and contract details when reviewing any scenario.
Does an NQ setup also apply to MNQ?
Compare the actual contracts and charts. Their multipliers differ, so the same point distance has different dollar exposure.
